Follow the guide into the abandonned tunnels of the Walert mine, more than 80m below ground. See the mining machines, experience the miners’ work and listen to the stories of more than 100 years of iron ore mining.
You meet your guide inside the exhibition building, where you are also given a helmet. You then board the mining train which takes your group underground for a tour on foot of about 1km, inside spacious tunnels on two different levels.
To secure the places an advance booking is recommandet or show up at the museum reception during the opening hours. The language of the tour depends on the majority of visitors present. Audioguides in German, French, English and Dutch are available at the reception.

Accessible for wheelchairs.
Hiking shoes and warm clothing are recommended (9°C).
Children of all ages are admitted ( 1 < paying) – Remember the conditions in the mine during a 2 hours tour.
Access to the mine is not allowed for pets.
A safety helmet is lent to you by the museu.
