In 2024, our museum is open every Sunday in the off-season, in any weather, for young and old. The MNM presents the industrial history of an entire epoch (1870 – 1997) for almost two hours during a guided tour mine & train. The MNM Board of Directors had invited the entire staff to a good meal and a drink in a nice atmosphere for the end of the year 2023.

There was a little more going on in our mine: The Crawler Crew Luxembourg visited us with 70 people on Saturday, 11 November 2023.

The electric locomotive of our mine train does not need winter tires, but the wheels must be checked regularly. For this work, carried out by the company "Schöma" Diepholz (D), the 18-ton machine has been lifted with an impressive crane these days.

As a thank you for their commitment, the Board of Directors has invited all volunteers, employees, guides, train drivers and those who have supported the museum to a graduation party of the high season 2023. Together one celebrated a little with a good meal and a nice atmosphere.

50 years ago, they helped to set up a first small mining museum in Rumelange: the miners Nic Ronconi, Mett Welter, Mett Kockelmann and Wendel Coulon It was the beginning of a success story.
