Safety training for the entire MNM team is required every year to ensure visitor safety. This time, Gilles Krier and Rumelange firefighters demonstrated how an injured person is evacuated from the gallery, while Guy Hoffmann and Joe Merres refreshed first-aid skills on the spot.

The MNM Annual General Meeting drew up a very positive balance sheet: last year, we once again welcomed 11,900 visitors. Thanks to the many guides and train drivers, staff and volunteers, the mine remains an important tourist attraction in Luxembourg.

The MNM Board of Directors invited the museum’s staff, guides, train drivers and volunteers to a New Year’s drink with a good bite as grateful recognition. A big tank you from the whole team.

The day of St. Barbara was celebrated in honor of the miners with a parade through the city, a memorial ceremony in front of the monument for the miners, a mass in our tunnel and a tasty lunch at the cultural center.

The Museum’s « Technical Service » embarked on the ambitious restauration of a wheel loader type Eimco 912, breathing new life into a piece of history. In addition to the staff of the organizer, a team of volunteers, guides and of the staff of the MNM led by the coordinator of the technical service, Raymond Hoffmann, was on duty to ensure the tunnel safety. A big thank you to them all.

Shortly before the start of the new season, our team of volunteers replaced with great commitment the wooden stamps of a side mine.
