Due to work in our mine, the MNM will be closed for December 2024 and January 2025. From February we are open again on Sundays for individual visitors and the whole year for group tours on reservation. Thank you for your understanding.

The day of St. Barbara was celebrated in honor of the miners with a parade through the city, a memorial ceremony in front of the monument for the miners, a mass in our tunnel and a tasty lunch at the cultural center.

The Museum’s « Technical Service » embarked on the ambitious restauration of a wheel loader type Eimco 912, breathing new life into a piece of history. A delegation of the MNM picked up that engine end of January 2024 in Recklinghausen’s training mine. Design sans titre - 1 Design sans titre - 1

In addition to the staff of the organizer, a team of volunteers, guides and of the staff of the MNM led by the coordinator of the technical service, Raymond Hoffmann, was on duty to ensure the tunnel safety. A big thank you to them all.

At our recent MNM conference, historian Denis Klein presented and commented on rare film excerpts about the fascinating history of Luxembourg mining. It became a journey back in time for the participants.
