The MNM has launches a cycle of conferences on the history of the regional iron ore industry. Historians, eyewitnesses and other specialists from the iron ore mining come to speak to deepen the topic in a pleasant atmosphere. Each conference will take a closer look at one aspect of the mining history. At the first conference in 2024, you will be introduced to the limestone industry in Rumelange. Although the tunnels have long been closed, that industry was not dead. Claude Hermes, passionate about the history of his native Minett, recounts the much longer and sometimes incredible history of the other local mineral resource, limestone. It starts on Thursday, 25 January 2024 at 8 pm in the multipurpose room of our reception building. Everyone is welcome. The admission is free. Further conferences are scheduled for 29 February and 28 March 2024.
